Last month, the Northwest Florida Arts Association sadly closed it’s doors. The final gallery show reception had a wonderfully large turnout and the artwork was amazing. Surprisingly, I won the first place award!
Two of the recent shows I’ve been a part of – The Okaloosa Public Arts organization invited to me participate in the exhibition to celebrate the opening of the new Student Services building at Northwest Florida State College. The art exhibit was by invite only and, (their words, not mine), “an exhibit of the work of our area’s most distinguished artists….” Hmm….needless to say, I was surprised to get an invite, an honored to participate. My three entries are below.
The other show was the “Go Digital” gallery show, held by the Northwest Florida Arts Association. My four entries:
My Entries for ADSO’s 11th Annual Photography & Digital Arts Exhibit:
The exhibit runs till August 27 at the Art Center in Fort Walton Beach. Opening night reception is August 6.
I had my first gallery show at the end of January. Not only was it exciting but it was a lot of fun.
The show was based on the Jump book by Philipe Halsman.
The show was a huge success and a little sad when it was time to take it down. I’ve never been much of a people photographer, although years ago (seems like a lifetime ago) I worked in an Olan Mills type of photography job, but this was way too much fun.
